Brady's Power Equipment Inc., is a family owned and operated Outdoor Power Equipment business. For over 25 years, they have been operating in Stormville, NY. In 1970, Founder, Steve Brady started out in Cross River NY with his business, The Cross River Country Store. At this store, Steve became a Stihl dealer. In 1978, Steve closed the doors of his country store in search of a greater success "upstate". He, his wife Carolyn and three children relocated to Hopewell Jct NY. Many can recall the small business known as Steve Brady's Chainsaws. Operating out of the basement garage of their home on Warren Drive. At this location he sold and serviced Stihl chainsaws. All the while, Steve also worked on the road servicing many tree companies in their shops. The at home business became a great success and quickly required more space.

In 1988, a new location was constructed. Steve and Carolyn opened the doors of their new route 216 location, Brady's Power Equipment. The big move was necessary to accommodate the ever growing business. The space allowed for a small show room, office, as well as a repair shop in the back; with room to accommodate a parts inventory. At this location Brady's Power continued to grow rapidly. With the expansion of space the manufacturers expanded as well. Taking on many lines the Brady Family was able to provide anything from a chainsaw to a small compact tractor along with parts and service to suite. A total of three additions have been added on to their location.

Carol continued running the office and service desk. She acquired many skills that allowed her to manage many roles, that were necessary for this growing industry. In 1989 Steve and Carolyn's son, Tom, began working as their mechanic part-time. Once he graduated college in 1991 he began as their full-time mechanic. Gaining a passion for the industry, Tom found himself contributing to sales, assisting customers, and helping run the day to day operation, all while in the mix of completing shop repairs. In 1997, one of Steve and Carolyn's daughters, Stephanie, decided to join the family business full-time. Having the family trait, you could find Stephanie doing a little bit of everything, assisting customers with parts, selling new equipment and starting up machines out back. Mostly working a long side her mother and brother at the counter.

In 2009, Tom took over the family business and Steve continued playing a huge role in day to day operations. He maintained his role of handling all pick up and deliveries, while overseeing all shop details. He could always be found each evening sharping chains at his workbench.

On November 10, 2016 the Brady family had to say goodbye to "the man who started it all". He was an amazing husband, father and role model. Brady's Power continues to operate day to day, by applying Steve's highest standards in all applications of business.
